Let’s start your first sewing project. We will be making an easy fully lined sunglasses case using the skills learned in the first course.
Congrats on your sunglasses case, now let’s sew your second sewing project! Using your ability to sew in a straight line we will be making a tote bag, using and attaching belting and adding a pocket.
Course two is full of must-know starter techniques like how to use your pressing tools and their importance, clipping vs’ notching, and learning to sew in a circle along with practice sheets.
Using all the skills you learned in course two including sewing in a circle, you will be printing and sewing an earbud case. You will also apply your first zipper.
In this course you will learn to identify fabrics, shop for fabrics online, build a swatch kit with printables. We will cover how to match needles to fabric, elastic types and uses.
In this course, you will be learning basic drafting using your body measurements and some basic rectangles and squares to create a top and matching skirt. You will create your pattern, cut your fabric, create a casing and insert elastic.
In this course you will learn the types of knit fabrics most commonly used, the best practices for sewing with knits, seam finishes and tips and tricks.
Learn to draft and sew your own leggings based on your body measurements for a great fit. Using the skills learned in course four you will be able to make as many leggings as your heart desires.
Learn to draft and sew your own t-shirt and t-shirt dress based on your body measurements for a great fit. Using the skills learned in course four you will be able to make as many t-shirts as your heart desires.
In this course, you will expand on your skills and drafting a basic skirt sloper. We will cover the purpose and importance of a sloper and how to use them. You will also draft, make a sample, fit it and insert both a lapped and invisible zipper.
Now that you have learned to make a sloper you can follow along while we teach you to draft and sew two fashionable skirts. You will draft a high waist pencil skirt and an A-line skirt using your sloper.
Using body measurements we will learn to draft our basic bodice sloper from which many designs will be created further along.
Using the bodice sloper we drafted in the previous course we will create a peplum top and dress.
